B-H Postcards
On these webpages we would like to take you for a trip through Bosnia and Herzegovina and her history with the help of postcards, but also with the help of sevdalinke. It is our goal to prepare a small gallery of pictures for each Bosnian-Herzegovinan town and to introduce you to at least one sevdalinka from or about that particular town.

GALLERY 1 – OLD POSTCARDS FROM B&H
We are starting this mission with a gallery of postcards from the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The postcards from this gallery were incorporated into the calendar published in the war year 1994 by the Bosanska Knjiga Publishing Company from Sarajevo. The calendar was designed by the greatest specialist in the old B-H postcards, Mr. Miroslav Prstojević. On the path of the old postcards from Bosnia and Herzegovina you will be guided by the sevdalinka Bosno moja (My Bosnia) performed by one of the best performers of sevdalinka, Zaim Imamović.
GALLERY 2 - OLD POSTCARDS FROM B&H
Here is another gallery of postcards from entire Bosnia and Herzegovina from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. This gallery was prepared with help from Mr. Nikola Buljević who wrote to us complimenting our web-site and offering us kindly the pictures of old B-H postcards from his web-site. We are very thankful to Mr. Buljević for the pictures. Through this gallery we are guided by the diva of sevdalinka, Zehra Deović, and her interpretation of the song Bosno moja (My Bosnia.)
GALLERY 3 - OLD POSTCARDS FROM SARAJEVO
Thanks to Mr. Buljević, we also succeeded to prepare this gallery of Sarajevo postcards from the time of the Austro-Hungarian rule in the country (1878-1918) The citizens of Sarajevo and other connoisseurs of Sarajevo will recognize many old Sarajevo streets, buildings, and city districts. The folklore fans will be able to enjoy in the variety of folk costumes on the Sarajevo streets. We would like to thank one more time to Mr. Buljević for sharing these pictures with us. Himzo Polovna, an other well-known performer of sevdalinka, guides us through the old Sarajevo with the song Sarajevo, dibno mjesto (Sarajevo, a beautiful town).
We would like to notify you that these pages are fairly voluminous and hard to download unless you have a fast-speed Internet connection. Even with the high-speed Internet connection, please, be patient.
Enjoy your virtual trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina through space and time.
